The whole band will have their eyes glued to this chart as the horn players hunt and peck through this one. The rhythmic figures are searing with energy, the rhythm section will cook on high heat throughout and the tenor sax soloist will need oven mitts for protection. Played this for competition for my schools 1st Jazz Band (had 2nd alto on this song) This was one of the best songs we played + preformed at competition! (Our set was Ice Castles (Through The Eyes Of Love), It Might As Well Be Spring and Cold Duck Time!)
Played something a lot harder than this and im still confused why our band director never gave us this, my 8th grade band would've loved this. (might buy Eb Alto 1 for myself to practice over the summer)

As someone who listens to the many variations cannonball and nat played, this is the second best big band arrangement (the best was the ray brown all star big band with cannonball as a guest artist)
